How to use the website | New hamster 🐹

Looking to get a hamster or got one and just found out the pet shop gave you bad advice? You've come to the right place.

I know it can be confusing but this website will help you figure out where to start and what your hamster actually needs. 🐹💛

First off, you will need a safe and large enough enclosure. You can check out our recommended enclosure page for many different options. 🏡

Next comes bedding, one of the most important parts of a hamster enclosure because hamsters need deep and safe bedding to burrow and feel secure! 🛌

A good-sized and safe wheel is also essential, helping your hamster stay active and healthy. 🎡

Then you will need to fill your enclosure up, making sure heavy items are either supported from the base of the enclosure or placed on platforms. Some multichamber hides can work as both a hide and a platform as long as they are strong enough and well made.

Once these basics are in place, it’s time to make the enclosure feel enriching and interesting, giving your hamster lots of things to explore whilst still leaving space to move around safely and easily. You can add items such as:

• Other hides

• Sand baths and dig boxes

• Bridges and tunnels

• Branches, grass mats and moss

• Boredom breakers

Finally, you need to add food and water including forage sprays which help with coverage and will make your hamster feel safe.

Doing all of these things will help create a happy hamster living a full and enriched life 🐹💛
