Hamster Enrichment

What is enrichment?

Just as important as a hamster's enclosure, bedding, wheel and food is enrichment. 

It can come in many different forms and it is all the other items that go into a hamster's enclosure, which helps replicate what they would get up to in the wild. 

 

Ideally, a hamster's enclosure wants to be filled up so they have lots to do and they don't show signs of stress, boredom or being scared, but can still navigate throughout the enclosure easily.

 

If any enrichment item has an entrance (opening) to it, ensure they are at least 7cm wide for Syrians and 5cm for Dwarf species, this is just so they can navigate through them easily, especially when their pouches are full.

 

I have included many different forms and examples of enrichment in this section. As some companies produce items in various sizes, please ensure that any purchases are appropriately sized for the hamster, as it is impossible to link all of them.​ ​
