Hamster Rescues
As there are so many unwanted hamsters around the world looking for their forever homes I'm always going to recommend adopting or rescuing a hamster from a rescue, shelter, or from a rehoming website.
I do not recommend or endorse purchasing a hamster from a pet store due to the majority of them being bred in horrendous conditions in rodent mills and/or kept in inhumane conditions once in the stores.
I also don't recommend or endorse purchasing a hamster from a breeder as I do not believe there is such a thing as an 'ethical' breeder when it comes to hamsters.
If you want to adopt or rescue a hamster too, please do check out the rescues/shelters/rehoming websites below and see if there are any hamsters available near where you live.
If you are ever unable to continue caring for your hamster, please consider reaching out to organisations like those listed below, as they can help ensure your hamster finds a safe and loving home.
